Kitāb al-Anāṣir and Kitāb al-Mizāj – English Translation
The Kitāb al-Anāṣir (Book of Elements) and the Kitāb al-Mizāj (Book of Temperaments) occupy a central place in the corpus of Unani medical literature. The former presents a systematic exposition of the four fundamental elements—earth, water, air, and fire—while the latter offers a detailed analysis of mizāj (temperament), a cornerstone of Unani medical philosophy. Both works are attributed to Galen (129–216 CE) and were translated into Arabic by Hunayn ibn Ishaq (808–873 CE). They have now been rendered into English from their Arabic versions.
